River House, Beverly

An innovative combination of a 14-bed shelter, counseling facility and 5-unit Safe Haven SRO for formerly homeless persons with mental illness in an old fire house on the Beverly waterfront, convenient to downtown and public transportation.  Financing totaling $1.1 million, through a local bank and Federal Home Loan Bank, McKinney Vento and Housing Innovations Fund.  Completed:  October, 2006.
